Happy Thanksgiving Day

Thanksgiving isn’t just about the delicious food (though, let’s be honest, it’s a big part of it!). It’s also a time to bring family together, create lasting memories, and enjoy each other’s company. If you have grandkids coming over, keeping them entertained while waiting for the turkey to roast can be a fun challenge! Whether they’re tiny tots or teenagers, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Here are some Thanksgiving activities that’ll keep grandkids of all ages busy, happy, and thankful for family time!

Toddlers (Ages 1-4)

At this age, it’s all about sensory fun and simple crafts. Keep things easy, engaging, and maybe a little bit messy (because that’s where the magic happens!).

2. Turkey Handprint Art

Early Elementary (Ages 5-8)

At this age, grandkids are starting to get creative and love making things they can show off to the whole family. They’re also eager to help, so these activities combine creativity and contribution!

2. Pumpkin Tic-Tac-Toe

Create a large tic-tac-toe board on a piece of cardboard or poster board and use mini pumpkins and gourds as the game pieces. Not only is it festive, but it’s also a fun way to keep them engaged while the adults are cooking.

3. Turkey Tag

If the weather’s nice, take the fun outside for a game of “Turkey Tag.” Designate one person as the turkey, and the others try to catch them. When tagged, they become the next turkey. It’s a great way to burn off some energy before sitting down to the big meal.
